"We are evolving and eroding all at once" - Terry Tempest Williams Erosion

evolve + erode is a collection of ephemera that speaks to the dual materiality of clay, and its abilities to disintegrate, yet reform itself entirely through the presence of water. This personal return to clay exhibits witnessing moments of erosion, its remnants, and the impact made over a length of time. Sculptural clay bodies composed of plant life, minerals, rocks, trash and flora present the evolving and eroding capabilities of clay, our societies and us, whilst expressing the urgency of reconsidering the materials we use as artists in the current climate crisis.
